Penny Brohn UK is the leading UK charity offering a Whole Person Approach to supporting people living with cancer. We have over 35 years of experience and are pioneers in the field of holistic cancer care, providing a unique combination of physical, emotional and spiritual support designed to help anyone affected by cancer as well as their close supporters. We work in partnership with many major healthcare providers, using evidence based research to underpin our service offering.
We are looking for a Research and Evaluation Officer to cover maternity leave within the Research and Evaluation team based at our National Centre in Pill on the outskirts of Bristol.
The role is part-time, 14 hours a week, and fixed term for 6 months with the possibility of extending for a short period.
The role is to support the established research and evaluation programme at Penny Brohn UK. The post holder will conduct two research and evaluation projects under the guidance of the Research and Evaluation Lead. Key facets of the role include: working with confidential information, managing a database of participants in the project, sending out questionnaires, collecting and entering data, sensitively contacting participants who have queries/problems responding, performing statistical analysis on the data generated by the study, and, contributing to academic reports. Overall, this post will serve to provide Penny Brohn UK with useful new service insights, thereby supporting further innovation and development of our services. Opportunities to be involved in academic publications and attend conferences will be provided.
We are looking for a graduate with a psychology, or related relevant health or social sciences degree who would embrace this opportunity to work within our well established Research and Evaluation team. Candidates should also be well-organised, able to pay close attention to detail, self-motivated and flexible.
