ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS OFFICER (HEART NCOP PARTNER BASED) (FIXED TERM)
Starting salary in the range £26,052 to £31,076 per annum
We require a confident and responsible individual to champion and ensure the success of the HEFCE funded HEART NCOP project in Leeds Trinity University.
You will be working to ensure the highest number of pupils from target wards within West Yorkshire, who have the ability to benefit from Higher Education, have the opportunity to do so.
Working within Leeds Trinity University you will arrange and manage events and activities to raise attainment and aspirations, and – most importantly – support the application and transition of pupils into Higher Education. You will have a particular focus on working with parents/carers/guardians and developing community/business links within identified wards, to inform and challenge perceptions, as well as supporting activity with young people themselves to raise attainment. In addition, you will attend and/or arrange the attendance of others at HEART NCOP events and activities at locations within the target communities, including occasional evenings and weekends as required. The role is extremely varied and requires applicants to work on a flexible basis.
You will help ensure the effective involvement of key stakeholders in the project and work within the wider team to set, progress and meet Programme targets and objectives. You will bring your knowledge and experience of working with key influencers and in communities, and of higher education, to act as a positive role model, informing and generating engagement amongst the participants. There will be the requirement to attend HEART meetings as necessary as representative of your institution, and to support the work of the central HEART NCOP team. The role will require the holder to work on a flexible basis, including travel to alternative locations and some evening/weekend work.
