Plumbing Tutor/NVQ 3 Assessor
|Salary:||Up to £35,000 per annum|
|Placed on:||29th November 2016|
|Closes:||16th December 2016|
Let’s face it, what you don’t know about plumbing probably isn’t worth knowing. You’ve got the qualifications to prove it and the practical skills to ensure that you get every job done, and to a high standard. Now you have the opportunity to help us to educate the next generation of apprentices.
Your challenge? This is an exciting new opportunity to support our apprentices at every level of their apprenticeship. You will do this by ensuring we deliver high quality teaching throughout the PMES theoretical and practical syllabus for both City & Guilds and EAL - Level 2 and Level 3. Giving advice and support to the employers who take these apprentices on, you will also be responsible for making sure that everything goes smoothly for both parties. You will help promote our activities and training, which will involve maintaining relationships with external parties, assisting with industry events and keeping abreast of developments in your field of expertise.
With an Advanced Craft Certificate in Plumbing (or equivalent), a Certificate in Education or equivalent teaching qualification. You must be Fit To Teach and have verifiable relevant industry experience and current knowledge of industry working practices and techniques relevant in a building services engineering environment. Knowledge or involvement in Government training schemes and National Vocational Qualifications would be an advantage - as would D32/D33, A1, or TAQA assessor qualifications or equivalent, a recognised Health and safety qualification, and current ACS certificate (non-domestic).
Previous experience of mentoring apprentices would, of course, be a distinct advantage, as would any knowledge or involvement in Government training schemes and National Vocational Qualifications. But as long as you are willing to train as an assessor you can take advantage of our first class training and ultimately play a vital role in maintaining our success as one of the UK’s top work-based learning providers.
Although based from home, you will need to live within commuting distance to Oxford and be willing to travel regularly so a full driving licence and use of a car is essential.
In addition to the salary, there is an excellent benefits package that includes training and development, an occupational pension scheme, 25 days annual leave and BUPA.
A DBS Disclosure will be required.
We welcome applicants from all sections of the community. JTL is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all its employees to share this commitment.
