Project title: Mindfulness and compassion in parenting

Primary supervisor: Dr L Emerson
Co-supervisor: Dr F Sirois

Project description: Previous studies have shown that parenting styles and parents mental health can contribute to the well-being of their child. Parenting is an inherently stressful task. This PhD will investigate the ways that mindfulness and compassion can help alleviate some of the stress, and lessen the impact on the child.

Start date: 1 October 2017

Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of a first class or high upper second-class undergraduate honours degree and a distinction or high merit at Masters level in psychology or a related discipline.
