The School of Healthcare Sciences, Cardiff University is seeking to appoint a part time Tutor to assist in the delivery of clinical skills education and mandatory training i.e. manual handling, Basic Life Support and Acute Life Threatening Events Recognition & Treatment (ALERT).
The School of Healthcare Sciences provides a broad range of under- and postgraduate education that directly improves health outcomes and healthcare for patients and families. This includes courses and research in Midwifery; Nursing (Adult, Child and Mental Health); Occupational Therapy; Physiotherapy; Clinical Photography; Perioperative Practice; and, Radiography (diagnostic and therapy).

All candidates must have current registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) or the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC). Candidates should hold the All-Wales Manual Handling Training Passport and Information Scheme or an equivalent qualification and an Intermediate Life Support qualification. They should have a proven ability to conduct education and training and demonstrable specialist knowledge of clinical and/or professional skills and possess relevant up to date clinical expertise.
An approved teaching qualification, such as the Post graduate Certificate in University Teaching and Learning or equivalent, or be working towards such a qualification is desirable.
The post is 0.6 FTE part-time or term-time contract with the options to be negotiated with the successful applicant. This is a fixed term post that will end 29 November 2017. The post may also be available as a secondment opportunity.
Tutors will be expected to provide teaching between the hours of 9am - 5pm flexibly with demand increases at key times i.e. October/November/March.
