This exciting new post has arisen as part of St Luke’s Hospice’s charitable imperative to promote excellence in palliative care clinical care, research and training.
Reporting to the Director of Health Services Research Section at the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR), the Medical Director of St Luke’s Hospice and Clinical Lead for Palliative Care at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you will play a key role in developing and expanding the base of clinical and health services research in palliative care.
Your clinical interests should to align with the clinical needs of St Luke’s Hospice and the Directorate of Palliative Care in Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (STHFT). The post comprises of ten programmed activities, with an even split of five clinical programmed activities and five academic programmed activities.
You will need a basic medical degree, a PhD or an MD in a relevant subject areas, full registration with the General Medical Council and a current licence to practice. Significant post-doctoral experience in clinical and translational research is also essential and it is desirable that you have prior consultant experience.
This post is full-time and for a fixed-term period of 5 years.
