Arthritis Research UK Biomechanics and Bioengineering Centre Projects
This is an exciting opportunity to provide valuable, comprehensive technical support to the Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Research team in the School of Engineering, and working in the Arthritis Research UK Biomechanics and Bioengineering Centre of Excellence at Cardiff University.
The job will focus on supporting all aspects of the research into biomechanics of human movement to inform clinical diagnosis and develop new interventions for patients who have problems with their joints. It will contribute to the excellent international reputation of the research into arthritis that is well established at Cardiff School of Engineering.
The required technical expertise relates to setting up and maintaining motion capture equipment and on-going support for the use of motion capture and analysis equipment and software. Appropriate specialist training will be provided for the post. The person appointed will work alongside the research team to support day to day research.
The post will be managed in the School of Engineering with technical supervision from Prof Holt/Dr Whatling. To ensure important clinical translation, there will be close collaboration with orthopaedic surgeons and physiotherapists working on related projects at the Cardiff and Vale Orthopaedic Centre.
This post is full time and fixed term for 24 months starting 1st January 2017.
