The Role

Free-thinking. Collaborative. Innovative. Kingston University is yours to innovate. And you will make a difference as you work on a European project aiming to design and develop an innovative integrated care system to monitor and manage COPD patients with co-morbidities.

You will work on the analysis, design and software development of secure wearable and smart cloud based mobile health platforms for disease management systems, as well as wellbeing applications to support patients and carers.

Using social networking to support the informal carer as well as data acquisition modules for connecting the medical sensors to the cloud application securely via the internet will also form part of the project.

The Person

You’ll come to us with experience in full life cycle real software project development and management, ideally in mhealth or ehealth environments. You will also have a sound understanding of international standards in the development of medical applications and devices including security and privacy aspects. Experience in Body Area Network (BAN) and Personal Area Network (PAN) are desirable.

Able to conduct user requirements and needs assessments for software development, you will be skilled in undertaking software components integration and validating and verifying final products. Your knowledge of coding will include using C, C++, Java, Java script, PhP, HTML5, MySqL, Oracle, web service development, Cloud computing development, tools on Big Data mining and management, and smart phone development on many platforms (Android, IOS and web app). Strong communication skills will also be vital.
