You will be part of the University Placements Team based within the Careers Service, directly contributing to the increased participation in work experience placements of students at all levels of study. You will act as the main point of contact for all queries, and provide support for staff, students and prospective students applying for the Lloyds Scholars programme, ensuring that target figures are reached every year through effective promotion and monitoring. This will also include regularly reviewing and updating information and documentation for students, staff and stakeholders about the programmes, including websites, reports and guidance documentation.
You will, along with the Placement Team Manager, take responsibility for the development of placement related activity with the Faculty of Social Sciences, actively engaging with key Faculty and Departmental staff and students.
You should have a first degree in a relevant subject area (or have equivalent experience). You will have effective communication skills, both written and verbal, together with experience of delivering individual guidance to students in respect of work experience, placements or employability development. A high level of confidentiality and discretion is also required to work with students and employers.
This post is offered on a part time basis, fixed-term Until 1 December 2017.
