We are seeking talented and enthusiastic research assistants/associates with a PhD awarded, or near completion, in systems biology, computational biology or related subjects; prior experience in dynamical systems or network science is desirable.
The objectives of this position are to develop algorithms to identify targets for intervention in biological networks (metabolic, protein-protein interactions, or inter-cellular); model effect of intervention on system performance; estimate (near) optimal interventions for a system and try these approaches in networks of model organisms (E. coli, B. subtilis, cyano bacteria, and other systems). To evaluate how the optimal solution in one system can be transferred to another system leading to a (near-) optimal solution in the target system.
You will have good communication skills, very strong dynamics modelling skills, and a track record of previous peer-reviewed journal publications. You will have experience with modelling complex systems. The position will include brief visits to our partners in the UK and abroad.
