Fixed term contract for 15 months.

We wish to appoint an excellent researcher to our Translational Research Group headed by Professor Suzuki within the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences.

In this role you will work with the group on their research objectives including the development and implementation of new diagnostic and therapeutic methods with a primary focus on biomarkers/proteomics and understanding mechanisms of disease through comprehensive analysis ranging from molecular & cellular approaches to animals models and pre-clinical studies. The successful candidate will contribute to research papers, write up findings and make contributions to written reports and grant applications.

You will have an honours degree in biomedical sciences, biological sciences or a related, relevant subject, be a Home Office Personal Licence Holder (PIL) and have recent experience in animal-based research models, histological analyses of tissue and laboratory biochemistry techniques. You will also have practical experience of applying research skills and techniques, with experience in surgical models of animal research desirable.
