Applications are invited for a fixed-term lectureship (five months) in Human Geography and in the School of Geography at Queen Mary, University of London. The post is funded to complete a project on curriculum development across our BA and BSc programmes to enhance our students’ social capital and employability. The post will also involve some teaching and assessment (eg on UG fieldtrips and tutorial groups) and time for research. Applications should relate to one or more of the research themes in the School (Human Geography: Culture, Space and Power; Economy, Development and Social Justice; Health, Biosciences and Security).
Applicants should have, or be due to submit, a PhD. Applicants should have teaching experience and expertise appropriate to their career stage.
The School of Geography at QMUL has a strong international reputation for theoretically informed and empirically grounded research, and was ranked 5th in REF2014 for its world-leading and internationally-excellent research outputs. The School operates within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
The post will start from 7 January 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The starting salary will be £40,182 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
