The role is to contribute to the delivery of social work education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the Department of Social Work and Social Care. To teach, support and assess students and liaise with social work placement providers, to ensure a high quality of learning and student experience throughout the student journey. Contributing to the Department’s management and ongoing development of its education programmes to meet employer and sector needs. To undertake research and scholarly activity to ensure the Department’s programmes are informed by current research evidence and reflect national policy and good practice. The role involves undertaking skills development teaching, preparing students for direct practice on placement, undertaking visits to students on placement as required and acting as a tutor to students. Contributing to practice assessment panels and practice education across all programmes in the Department.
The role may suit an experienced practice educator who wishes to work part time or combine an academic position with a post in social work practice. Applicants must hold a professional qualification in Social Work and be registered with the HCPC, and have experience of teaching at higher education level in social work.
