Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Nursing Sciences (Mental Health)

£40,523 to £46,924 per annum or £48,327 to £55,998 per annum

The School of Health Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Nursing Sciences (Mental Health). Making significant contribution to the School’s mental health nursing programme at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, this is an opportunity to deliver first class teaching and conduct high quality research in a vibrant and committed academic community.

Applications from individuals with primary, acute and public health care experience are actively encouraged.

The post holder will be appointed to either a research focused role (ATR) or a teaching focused role (ATS), dependent upon his/her experience. An ATR appointee will be required to deliver research outputs in line with the School’s Strategic Plan alongside teaching and assessment across the suite of pre and post registration nursing programmes, and we are particularly interested in applicants who have research interests in Health Promotion and Prevention, Dementia Care, Rehabilitation and Health Services Research.

Candidates will have a good first degree (2:1 or above) and a higher degree in a health related discipline, and will have a clinical nursing background and be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a mental health nurse. S/he will have evidence of HE teaching practice (undergraduate, postgraduate or professional levels) in a relevant discipline.

The post will be subject to a criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
