To complement our diverse and experienced Children and Young Persons Team, the College is looking to add to its existing group of staff following the University’s teaching-focused career path. We are looking for an individual who is an experienced paediatric nurse who can significantly enhance our student learning experience through teaching and continuing development of the curriculum.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate will help to strengthen the links between our various programmes of study and our key stakeholders, in particular local Health Boards. The teaching staff team will share and promote good practice in teaching and aim to develop innovations in teaching methods to engage and inspire students.
The post-holder will be responsible for teaching and or leading a number of modules on a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Typically, the successful candidate will play a significant role in the delivery of the BSc (Hons) Nursing programme (Child Branch), as well as contribute to other programmes of study across the College.
In addition all academic staff are expected to undertake key administrative and course leadership duties, varying according to the level staff are appointed at.
Applicants must possess a first degree in Nursing, hold current registration on Part 8 or 15 of the register as a practising Paediatric Nurse with the NMC. Experience of teaching and/or supervising students (in an education and/or practice environment) is essential as is excellent knowledge and experience and a clear understanding of issues relating to children’s nursing. Possession of a Master’s degree and a relevant teaching qualification is desirable.
The successful candidate will be given support to further their academic and professional development.
The successful candidate will be required to focus on Teaching, Scholarship and Student support.
