We have recently reviewed and updated the University's strategy, making this an exciting time to join the University. The Human Resources (HR) Directorate has a pivotal role to play in ensuring that the University is able to deliver its objectives within the updated Strategy. The role of HR is to be a strategic partner providing professional long term guidance and support to meet the evolving people management needs of the University. In order to fulfil our role as a Strategic Partner we need to ensure that we are business focussed, flexible and delivering a quality proactive HR service.
Reporting to an HR Manager and working as part of a dynamic, enthusiastic and professional team of Senior/HR Advisers, this role is responsible for the delivery of HR advice to the University's business units. You will provide consistent and pragmatic professional advice on the application of HR policies, investigations, disciplinary and grievance hearings, and change processes. You will also support managers in diagnosing and resolving casework issues offering appropriate professional support and advice, as well as being involved in policy development.
A highly committed, HR professional who is ideally CIPD qualified, you will need to have substantial experience of advising managers on HR and people management issues. Relevant HR knowledge such as the application of HR policies and procedures, performance management and change management will be expected. You will have a sound knowledge of employment law coupled with experience of working with trade unions and/or employee representatives.
