The MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (CBU) is an internationally renowned research institute with state-of-the art cognitive neuroscience facilities. Applicants are invited for a Research Assistant to oversee the day-to-day running of a developmental research clinic at the Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit. The clinic, which is housed in the Centre for Attention, Learning and Memory (CALM) at the CBU, recruits children with difficulties in attention, learning and memory from local education and health community services. The clinic aims to generate unique data on the cognitive, neural and genetic characteristics of children with specific learning difficulties. The primary responsibility of the post-holder will be to oversee the day-to-day administration and testing of individual children for the project under the supervision of the manager of CALM, Dr Joni Holmes.
You will have a degree in psychology, neuroscience or a related field, and experience of working with children or other vulnerable groups. Basic computing skills (Word, Excel) and the ability to communicate effectively with child participants and their families are essential. This post would suit candidates with experience administering neuropsychological assessments to children with developmental disorders.
