We are looking to recruit a Chief Operating Officer (COO), who will also serve as NIESR's Company Secretary. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to play a crucial role in shaping and managing NIESR's future through assisting with the strategic development of the Institute. The COO will report to NIESR Director, Professor Jagjit Chadha, serve as Secretary to NIESR's non-executive Council of Management (the Board of Trustees) and join the Institute's executive Senior Management team. The COO will be responsible for all aspects of NIESR's non-research activity, to include: financial management; the development of commercial activities, human resources; corporate governance; and office services. NIESR has around 40 staff, including 7 administrative and support staff who report directly to the COO. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants real responsibility for managing a highly respected and very high profile organisation whilst working in an enquiring and engaging environment.
The post is a full time role based at our offices in Westminster.
The successful candidate will be appointed with a starting salary in the range of £70,000 to £80,000 depending on qualifications and experience. In addition NIESR contributes to a pension scheme for all staff.
