We have an exciting opportunity for a Trial Manager to join the Centre for Healthcare Randomised Trials (CHaRT – a UKCRC fully registered academic trials unit ( at the Health Services Research Unit (HSRU), University of Aberdeen. You will be the lead Trial Manager on one trial and will also contribute to other trials as required within the CHaRT portfolio:


You should have the ability to work with and coordinate a wide range of people, i.e. research and support staff in CHaRT and HSRU; consultants, nurses and other ward staff in the participating NHS centres; Research and Development staff in NHS trusts; Ethics Committees; trial participants; the trial funder and sponsor; Steering Committee members; and Data Monitoring Committee members. You should be flexible and be able to provide cover for other members of the trial teams when they are absent from the office. Enthusiasm, diplomacy, tact and persuasiveness are also key attributes essential for this post. The work will involve travel to various clinical centres within the UK.

As this appointment is externally funded by the department of Health NIHR it will be available for four years from 1 February 2017. This appointment will be made subject to the usual terms and conditions of employment of the University.

Salary will be at the paid on the grade 6 salary scale at £32,004 - £38,184 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.
