The Horniman Museum and Gardens in south east London has been open since Victorian times, when the tea trader and philanthropist, Frederick John Horniman first opened his house and extraordinary collection of objects to the local community. Since then, our collection has grown significantly and includes internationally important collections of anthropology and musical instruments, as well as an acclaimed aquarium and natural history gallery – all surrounded by 16 acres of beautiful Gardens offering breathtaking views across London.
The Horniman is a charity and we are seeking to appoint an engaging and experienced fundraiser who will be responsible for increasing financial support from individual, local community and corporate donors – raising sustainable funding for both projects and the ongoing care of our collections and Gardens. Working closely with Trustees, senior management and staff, you will deliver against ambitious targets and embed a culture that supports fundraising activity throughout the organisation.
You will be an exceptional relationship manager with a successful track record in fundraising. You will enjoy working collaboratively, maximising the skills and experience of colleagues whenever possible. You will be practical and hands-on in approach, skilled at managing multiple initiatives and relationships at different levels in a fast-paced environment. We will consider applicants on a part time or full time basis.
