Summary of Job Purpose and Principal Duties

Accountable to: Associate Dean for Learning and Teaching

Located: School of Medicine, Ninewells Hospital and Medical School

Applications are invited for an exciting new full time post as Lecturer in Technology and Innovation in Medical Education to commence as soon as possible, based in the School of Medicine. The post holder will provide academic, strategic leadership and vision in the use of educational digital technologies to foster excellence in learning, teaching and assessment by promoting the effective and innovative adoption of technologies across the School of Medicine’s educational programmes.

The re-organisation of Professional Services across the School, will provide an excellent opportunity for the post holder to commence in post working alongside a reformed, expanded team, promoting the effective and extensive use of technologies to enhance learning, teaching and assessment across the School. In addition to teaching / project supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate level the post holder will lead on developing the School’s approach to building digital literacy amongst staff and students.

The role holder is expected to champion new e-learning approaches, working with Academic and Professional Services staff to embed the use of new technologies and ensure the School’s technology enhanced learning approaches are current and sector leading.
