The University of Northampton is seeking a committed and experienced academic with a proven record of commercial and/or fine art photographic practice. The role requires candidates to possess a command of theoretical and critical approaches to photography, as well as knowledge, understanding and experience of a broad range of photographic media. Applicants must have established expertise in the selection and application of a wide range of photographic formats and processes. They should also have a range of software skills and knowledge of enhanced daylight through to controlled flash and tungsten lighting in the studio and on location. Applicants are also expected to have a significant track record of practice and research and should be able to supervise dissertations at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
The successful applicant will ideally be able to demonstrate programme/module management skills in addition to innovative and effective teaching and pastoral support across a range of levels within all learning modes (studio; workshop; demonstration, tutorial). The applicants will draw on their own practice and connections with industry to enrich the student learning experience.
The role holder will contribute to all undergraduate programmes in the subject area, supporting new and ongoing curricula, research (subject/pedagogic) and international developments.
