The University of Gloucestershire is looking to appoint a dynamic, experienced, and inspirational Senior Lecturer in Fine Art to lead the MA Fine Art course forward at a time of growth and development. The successful applicant will be a practising artist with a national/international profile in relation to fine art, and a depth of knowledge and understanding of current and historic trends in fine art. They will also have a track record of enhancement and innovation in relation to pedagogy and developing the student experience.
Candidates from a broad range of Fine Art disciplines will be considered. The core research interests of the school are in contemporary fine art practice in its broadest sense, developing collaborative and sustainable practice, discourses around practice as research, and curatorial practice. Applicants will need to be skilled in teaching and supporting students at postgraduate level and will be expected to make a significant contribution to research in the school, including the supervision of MPhil/PhD students, and to also contribute to undergraduate Fine Art teaching. Experience of course-leadership and/or curricular development, and substantial experience of teaching, will be considered an advantage, as will a strong portfolio of outcomes towards the forthcoming REF exercise.
