Professor/Associate Professor in Fine Arts (2 positions)

Cyprus University of Technology - Department of Fine Arts

Applications are invited from candidates who possess the necessary qualifications in order to fill the following academic positions at the Cyprus University of Technology:



  • TWO (2) positions at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor in Fine Art, specialising in one or more of following specializations:

“Studio Practice and Theory in Two-Dimensional Creation (Drawing, Painting, Printmaking etc)” OR “Studio Practice and Theory in Three-Dimensional Creation (Sculpture, Constructions, Installations etc),including Studio Practice and Theory in Artistic Creation in New Media” 

Applicants for all academic positions should have a master’s degree from a recognized University and good knowledge of the Greek language. The university reserves the right to request recognition of the master’s degree from the Cyprus Council for the Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications (K.Y.S.A.T.S).

The above specializations are considered of exceptional and unquestionable particularity, for which the authorship of a doctoral thesis and the acquisition of a doctoral degree are either not possible or not common. Therefore, for the above posts, there is no requirement for a doctoral degree. The minimum qualifications that are required for the above mentioned academic positions, including publications and academic experience, are contained within the provisions of article 26B of the Cyprus University of Technology Law of 2012 (111(I)/2012), as it was published in the official Government Gazette on July 17, 2012, Issue no. 4348 and are detailed on the University’s webpage:  These qualifications are based on the candidate’s years of academic experience, his/her artistic and research work and contribution, as well as his/her experience in the organization of high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

The languages of instruction at the University are Greek and/or Turkish. Citizenship of the Republic of Cyprus is not a requirement.

The annual gross salary for each position (including the 13th salary) is:                                                    

Rank Professor
Scale (Scale A15 – A16)
Salary EUR €70.106 – €91.128

Rank Associate Professor
Scale (Scale A14 – A15)
Salary EUR €61.830 - €84.295

It is expected that the successful candidate will be able to take up the post the earliest possible and not later than the 3rd of January 2018.
