Research Associate

Loughborough University - School of Science

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate position to work on an exciting new EPSRC funded research project for developing distributed algorithms for Compact Self-healing Routing (COSHER). COSHER is an innovative project aimed towards developing cutting edge solutions which can be applied for futuristic large scale networks such as Internet of Things (IOT). The project bringing together research from compact routing and self-healing will look towards extending recent work in these fields relying on standard message-passing modelling of networks (as graphs) and mathematical analysis of proposed algorithms. The successful candidate will have access to mentoring and self-development opportunities such as the Royal Society's communications course (as part of the funding from the project).

This is a one year fixed-term position in the present instance. The earliest start date is July 1, 2017 but a later joining date may be negotiated. We are seeking applications from post-doctoral researchers with a PhD in Computer Science, mathematics or related disciplines with knowledge and understanding of algorithms and CS theory and/or networks. Experience in designing distributed/network algorithms will be highly desirable.

Informal enquiries should be made to Dr. Amitabh Trehan by email at a.trehan@lboro.ac.uk or by telephone on +44(0)1509 222564.
