Sackler Research Forum Postdoctoral Fellow

Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London

Fixed term post from 1 September 2017 to 31 August 2018

£30,469-£34,844 per annum including London Allowance, depending on relevant knowledge and skills

The Courtauld Institute of Art’s Research Forum, with the support of the Sackler Foundation, is offering a fellowship to a scholar who has recently been awarded a PhD in Art History from The Courtauld Institute of Art. During the appointment, the fellow will pursue an independent research project leading to a publication; stage a collaborative project, such as a series of workshops, a conference, or some other venture; lead the Early Career Research Network; and play a role in developing and delivering the Research Forum programme.

The candidate will draw on his/her knowledge of the on-going research projects taking place within The Courtauld’s Research Forum and knowledge of the research priorities of Courtauld staff and students. This is a full-time post divided between research and administration: it does not involve any teaching.  Where teaching commitments are in place either at The Courtauld or elsewhere, these will have to be renegotiated.

Applicants must have received a Courtauld doctorate within the two-year period prior to the start date of the Fellowship, and the doctorate, including viva, must have been completed (passed or passed with minor corrections) by 15 August 2017

Please note that CVs alone will not be accepted. All applicants must complete an application form. There is no interview for this role; the appointment will be made based on the information that is supplied on the application form.

Closing date for applications: Tuesday, 6 June 2017

The applications received by the closing date will be reviewed by the Head of Research and a Faculty Committee with decisions made by Tuesday, 20 June 2017, and reported to the Research Committee at its next meeting.
