You will be required to operate, repair and maintain the full range of building service equipment and services across the University Campus, to ensure efficient and effective, continuous operation of all spaces including Teaching, Research, Commercial and Residential areas.

You will be responsible for assisting in the supervision of contractors, the implementation of escalation procedures to maintain business continuity and to provide the first point of contact in emergency situations.

You will be able to prioritise own workload and tasks, taking into account where the problem is, the nature of the problem, the number of people affected and the usage of the building.

You will also be required to prioritise the workload of Assistant Building Services Technicians and provide direct supervision of their daily duties.

40 hours per week (36.5 hours basic rate, 3.5 hours contracted overtime payable at time and a half).
25% shift allowance (the rota employs a two shift system to cover 24 hours per day on 12 hour shifts).
38 days holiday entitlement (26 days annual leave, plus 4 customary leave days and 8 Bank Holidays).
