The School of Arts and Humanities delivers inspiring and supportive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and learning; provides doctoral supervision; collaborates and engages with local, national and international industries, professions and communities; and undertakes high quality research.

The School of Arts and Humanities seeks to appoint a 0.5FTE permanent Lecturer in European Studies from 1 September 2017. Applications are sought from candidates specializing in the following areas within contemporary European Studies: European institutions, European politics and policy, with a broad knowledge and understanding of the major subject areas within European Studies. You will be able to demonstrate experience and expertise in teaching, curriculum design and assessment in European Studies and within your own specialist area.  An ability to contribute to programmes in Global Studies would be highly desirable.

Candidates must possess a commitment to teaching and learning and be able to work in a team-based and interdisciplinary context. The post-holder will be expected to contribute to curriculum delivery and development at undergraduate level; there are also opportunities to contribute to postgraduate level teaching and supervision. Applicants should have a strong research background with evidence of the ability or potential to publish in top international journals. Research conducted in this post will be encouraged to have impact beyond academia.
