In addition, candidates need to demonstrate academic leadership and strong commitment to the highest standard of excellence. Applicants are advised to provide quality indicators for the journals where they have research publications (e.g., journal impact factor, journal ranking in a relevant category, as available in the Journal Citations Reports of the Web of Science).

Successful applicants are expected to be able to teach a range of courses in core areas of psychology. Experience in supervising postgraduate students will be favorably considered.

Appointments will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially, leading to longer-term appointment or tenure later, subject to successful performance evaluation and mutual agreement. In cases where a candidate has an established record of excellence and demonstrable potential for continued success, tenure may be offered to the candidate at the time of initial appointment.

The appointee is expected to commence work in the academic year of 2017-18.
