Senior MIS Officer

The University of Bolton - Information Systems and Technology

We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable database and applications professional to lead on the technical support of our MIS applications. This includes our Finance, HR and student record system but this is a fast developing environment with frequent new projects. Your role will be to assist the client groups to identify and implement new features of the software; to undertake the system upgrades and troubleshooting; carry out database maintenance tasks; and to assist our developers to maximise the use of the data.

You will need confidence in your ability learn, and a keen interest, backed up with a good knowledge of SQL, MS SQL server and an understanding of business processes. We will provide additional support and training on the applications side if required.

Experience of working with commercial database systems would be an advantage, but the right attitude and attributes are equally important.

It is essential that you have a good standard of education – a degree in a relevant subject as well as having good analytical, problem solving, communication and technology skills.
