Research Associate in Computational/Systems Neuroscience

Full-time, open ended contract subject to fixed term funding. Funding is available for 3 years.

In this role you will develop and carry out research studying dynamics of cortical neuronal populations. Specifically, you will use in vivo recording techniques (electrophysiology and wide-field/2-photon imaging) to record activity in large populations of neurons in cortex and related brain structures and to use advanced computational approaches to analyse and model the observed dynamics of the neuronal activity.

You will play a key role in experiment and analysis design and in determining the direction of the research program, in line with developing your own independent research.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a related quantitative subject, with a record of proficiency in programming and quantitative data analysis. You will also have evidence of research productivity, such as presentations and research publications in peer reviewed journal.
