We are looking to appoint an individual with preferred backgrounds in architecture, architectural history and theory, archaeology or areas cognate to these. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to ongoing architectural and urban heritage research in the Middle East and South Asia and develop new areas of investigation. This takes place through the activities of the research centre, Architecture and Cultural Heritage of India, Arabia and the Maghreb (ArCHIAM) based at the Liverpool School of Architecture. ArCHIAM aims to provide an interdisciplinary research platform for historical and contemporary cultural developments across three interconnected global regions. It consists of an international team of researchers from a variety of academic backgrounds and is concerned with the multi-disciplinary study of how human culture and social practices are expressed spatially. You will be research active with an established or emerging output record, and will independently or as part of a team conduct and manage research and present findings to diverse audiences. You will be expected to actively seek research funding and engage with impact activities. You will teach on existing undergraduate, taught postgraduate and depending on qualifications, experience and grade experience supervise students on research degree programmes. You will engage in developing effective independent learners and researchers, and will lead the development of new areas of pedagogy in the field of architectural and urban heritage. You should have a PhD in a relevant area. The post is available until 30 November 2018.
