Lecturer in Petroleum Data Management

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced industry professional to join the School of Creative and Cultural Business as a lecturer in Petroleum Data Management. This post would primarily involve leading teaching and developments of our successful and innovative Graduate Certificate in Petroleum Data Management.

The course has been developed in collaboration with CDA (Common Data Access Ltd) the de facto body representing Petroleum Data Managers in the UK, and has been created to provide a flexible entry to an education in the field of petroleum data management (PDM). This is an entry-level, educational course at SCQF level 9. It provides a solid academic underpinning for subsurface data management in industry. The course has been designed as an access route for those wishing to join this professional discipline as well as those who may have relevant work experience in the energy sector but who do not currently have formal qualifications in this area. Students benefit from a course that has been developed with industry to reflect current practice and requirements. The value of data and sophistication of tools and technology to manage it mean that petroleum data management is now recognised as a valued discipline in the industry.

You will be course leader for the Petroleum Data Management course.  You will be responsible for delivering modules and will be the key liaison point with CDA and other stakeholders. Industry knowledge and experience of petroleum data management is essential.

Salary on first appointment is normally to the bottom of the scale, although in exceptional circumstances an appointment further up the scale may be considered
