Professorship in Scandinavian Literature, Culture and Media

The Department of Scandinavian Studies and Experience Economy at the School of Communication and Culture, Aarhus University invites applications for a five-year professorship in Scandinavian literature, culture and media with particular focus on the development of cross-disciplinary Scandinavian studies. The professorship is affiliated with the subject Scandinavian languages and literature.

This is a fixed-term position with the option of extension, and it commences on 1 November 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position
The professorship is being advertised with a view to appointing a professor with considerable international research qualifications in the field of Scandinavian literature, culture and media as well as experience of forming research networks in Scandinavian studies. The successful applicant will be expected to work with all the department’s broad range of subjects, focusing on Scandinavian cultures, media and literature. The successful applicant will also be expected to help to create a strong research environment in Scandinavian studies at the Department of Scandinavian Studies and Experience Economy. The successful applicant is also expected to teach at the department, thereby helping to ensure the students’ knowledge of and qualifications in Norwegian and/or Swedish language, literature, culture and media.
