Associate professorship in Russian Studies

The School of Culture and Society, Department of Global Studies, at Aarhus University invites applications for an associate professorship in contemporary Russian Studies with a special focus on the Soviet and post-Soviet eras in their social and cultural contexts.

The associate professorship is a full-time, permanent position available from 1 January 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position
We are seeking an innovative and dedicated person who will contribute to Aarhus University’s core activities in the areas of research, education, talent development and knowledge exchange. We are particularly interested in applicants with broad cultural studies research profile in particular the Soviet and post-Soviet eras of the 20th and 21st centuries. 

The successful candidate will join the Eastern European Studies programme, which cooperates closely with in European, International and a number of programmes in Area Studies that are part of the Department of Global Studies. While anchored in Eastern European Studies, we expect the successful applicant to teach and develop activities at a broader departmental level. Additional tasks include support of the programme’s and the department’s outreach strategy, especially regarding international organisations, universities and companies. The position also entails working to strengthen the language based area profile of the Department of Global Studies through international research.
