Sessional Lecturer in Archaeology

The Faculty of Arts & Humanities offers a diverse range of high quality programmes across contemporary and traditional areas of study in the Arts and Humanities. Within the Faculty the School of Humanities is a large academic School running programmes in American Studies, Archaeology, Creative and Professional Writing, English Literature, History and Theology and Religious Studies. It has a strong commitment to high quality teaching, learning and the student experience, as is demonstrated through very positive student satisfaction rates. We are looking for an early career academic or PhD student to support the work of our Archaeology programme team as a sessional teacher during the 2017/18 academic year.

The Role
The post holder will deliver two undergraduate modules (Years 1 and 2) on the prehistory of Britain within a European context. The Year 1 module will provide an overview from the Palaeolithic through to the Iron Age, and the Year 2 module focuses on Holocene prehistory. Both modules will be delivered on CCCU’s Canterbury campus on Thursdays in Semester 1 (late September 2017 to January 2018).

The post holder will also be responsible for the administration and assessment of the two modules. You will be supported in your role by the Subject Lead for Archaeology.

You will have or be expecting to complete a PhD is a related subject area.
