Salary: £39,324 per annum to £46,924 per annum (pro-rata if part time) together with USS pension benefits.

The normal expectation is that the successful applicant will be appointed to the minimum of the scale with annual increments on 1 October each year (subject to completing six months service).

Information Services and Systems (ISS) provides library, ICT, management information, media and careers services to staff and students across the University. It also provides services to other academic institutions, project partners and the general public. Learning & Teaching Facilities provide services to support learning & teaching across the institution, and services that support events & conferences both on and off the main campuses. The post holder will be based in ISS and will lead the team providing AV, IT and facilities support & services in lecture theatres, teaching rooms and other teaching & learning space across the University campuses.

The post holder will ensure that the team provides efficient and timely support to ISS customers as required in centrally bookable teaching space; this includes the triage, resolution or escalation of Incidents or Requests within agreed timescales, using ISS Service Management principles & processes. Support will also be provided in non-centrally timetabled learning & teaching or University space at the discretion of the post holder.

The post holder will be responsible for the specification, procurement and scheduled refurbishment/replacement of AV equipment, ancillary equipment and related consumables in centrally bookable teaching space. It is expected that strategic planning for this will be undertaken by the post holder, in liaison with stakeholders and strategic partners in other University service delivery teams.

The post holder will ensure that procedures are in place, that will proactively develop, manage and review processes and activities, to enable the team to provide services that include filming, audio recording, lecture capture, photography in the support of teaching and learning activities, booking requests, and other non-teaching events.

The post holder will liaise with other service delivery departments to form, maintain and review strategic partnerships that enable the provision of high quality learning and teaching space, and associated facilities. It is expected that the post holder will play a key part in driving and enabling innovation in learning and teaching space across the institution.

The post holder will be expected to adopt and implement best practice across ISS and the University; implementing ITIL and Customer Service Standards as required; and will be able to rapidly adapt to a changing University environment, including linking traditional services with online provision where applicable.
