Teaching Fellow in International Human Rights Law (Distance-Learning), MA Understanding and Securing Human Rights

University of London - School of Advanced Study

The campus-based MA in Understanding and Securing Human Rights at the School of Advanced Study, University of London, is the longest-running interdisciplinary, practice-based MA in Human Rights in the UK. Established in collaboration with Amnesty International over 20 years ago, we have educated hundreds of human rights professionals working around the world to secure, protect, and advocate for human rights.

Now, as part of our aim to offer human rights education globally, including to students unable to take up full time study for professional or personal reasons, the MA in Understanding and Securing Human Rights will also be offered by distance learning through the University of London’s International Programmes. You can find out more about the distance learning version of our MA here: http://www.londoninternational.ac.uk/courses/postgraduate/sas/understanding-securing-human-rights.

To support the delivery of excellent postgraduate human rights education by distance learning, we are currently recruiting for a Module Convenor for the module Translating Human Rights into International Law, a core module for this programme.  Applicants will also be able to apply simultaneously to act as Module Convenor for the Topics in International Human Rights Law module.  Translating Human Rights into International Law will run from September 2017- January 2018 and Topics in International Human Rights Law will run from February 2018-May 2018.

Distance-learning module convenors will be appointed on a self-employed basis and will be able to work flexibly from any location in the world. We therefore do not require module convenors to be ordinarily based in the UK.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Please send your covering letter and CV to Chloe Pieters (chloe.pieters@sas.ac.uk). Informal queries about the MA programme can be sent to chloe.pieters@sas.ac.uk.
