The appointment will be in the School of Computer Science in the Advanced Processor Technologies Group. This post is part of an interdisciplinary project shared between the Advanced Processor Technologies (APT) and the Nano Engineering and Storage Technologies (NEST) groups. The candidate will conduct research related to the development and implementation of a thermal simulation tool as well as related thermal management techniques for 2-D (planar) and 3-D (stacked) integrated systems.

You should have, or be working towards, a Ph.D. level qualification or experience in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Strong background in VLSI design and/or automation and specialist knowledge in the area of physical design are essential. You should be capable of working under your own initiative and being part of a medium-sized research team, so excellent communication and organisational skills are also required. The appointment will be made on merit.
