JAK/STAT signalling, computational biology, transcriptional regulation, myeloid malignancies; Stem Cell dynamics

Applications are invited for two full-time Research Associates to join the group of Professor Tony Green at the Cambridge Institute of Medical Research on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (

The post holders will study the following:

JAK/STAT transcriptional programs and/or cytokine signalling in normal haematopoiesis and how this is subverted in myeloid malignancies. This work will build on our identification of a genome-wide role for tyrosine unphophorylated STATs (Park et al EMBO 2016).

Stem cell dynamics, aging and the pathogenesis of myeloproliferative neoplasms (Kent et al PLoS Biol 2013; Li et al Blood 2014; Kirschner et al Cell Reports 2017).

The successful candidates must have a doctorate in a relevant subject. Experience of computational biology, normal or malignant haematopoiesis, genome-scale approaches to studying transcriptional regulation and/or cytokine signalling would be advantageous. The ability to work independently together with excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills are all essential.

The funds for these 2 posts are available for 3 years in the first instance.
