University of Warwick - English and Comparative Literary Studies

Fixed Term 2 year contract 15 September 2017 to 14 September 2019, to cover the teaching of Professor Catherine Bates and Dr Paul Prescott while they are on research leave.

You will undertake teaching in order to support the work of the department and develop and enhance its teaching reputation, both internally and externally. You will be responsible for teaching on the undergraduate modules EN301: Shakespeare and Selected Dramatists of His Time and EN121: Medieval to Renaissance Literature, and on another of our first year modules, such as EN122 Modes of Reading or EN101 Epic into Novel. You will monitor the progress of the students taught, providing timely and effective feedback on assessed work in accordance with the University’s requirements.

You will have sufficient breadth of specialist knowledge in Medieval and Renaissance literature, and specifically in Shakespeare, in order to enable the delivery of teaching to a level that is commensurate with what is required of a department with an outstanding reputation for both teaching and research. Candidates with interests in classical reception are particularly welcome, as is any experience with innovative teaching methods.

You will have previous experience of teaching at higher education level and familiarity with a variety of strategies to promote and assess learning.
