Salary:  Senior Lecturer: £39,324 - £48,327; Lecturer: £33,943 - £38,183

The School of Design is seeking to appoint a highly motivated lecturer in Fashion - Critical and Contextual studies whose expertise will support the research ambitions of the School. Research is an integral aspect of all that we do and we host a thriving community of academics, researchers and practitioners who have extensive experience of combining academic and practice-led inquiry.   

You will have a developmental role in teaching and learning within the Fashion subject discipline underpinned by your research, academic and/or professional experience. You will have specialist subject expertise of critical and contextual studies in Fashion with excellent knowledge of appropriate Fashion, Art and Design related theories within global, historical, contemporary and cultural settings. 

You will be able to demonstrate substantial knowledge of the broad vocational context within which the subject sits and the range of professional practices that inform it.  We are seeking a candidate with the vision to addresses the intellectual and cultural demands of an ever-changing society and audience and the aptitude to broaden your knowledge through academic practice. 

Contributing a high level of creative expertise to the Fashion Academic Group of BA (Hons) and MA programmes, you will be an inspirational teacher who can work effectively in a team. You will be committed to the development and enhancement of the School’s research agenda and global reputation. You will also actively contribute to maintaining existing and forging new links with industry, external organisations and the education sector in the UK and internationally.
