Research Associate, Social Data Science Lab

Applications are invited for a Research Associate post in the School of Computer Science & Informatics at Cardiff University. This is a full-time post for 1 year, starting on 1st September 2017.

The successful candidate will be dedicated to finding creative solutions and have a genuine curiosity and enthusiasm to undertake world-class research in the field of machine classification for the detection of cyber attacks on industry control systems. This will involve collecting data from network devices, novel feature detection, applying machine learning algorithms and transforming the results into risk scores. You will work within the Social Data Science Lab and work closely with Dr Pete Burnap, and collaborate with project partners Airbus Group. You will possess or expect to receive a PhD in Computer Science or a related area.

This is a full-time, fixed-term post for 1 year.

Salary: £32,004 - £38,183 per annum (Grade 6). The appointment will be made at point 30 of the Grade 6 scale.
