This is an exciting and transformational time for Technical Operations in IT Services at the University of Sussex. As we move to a service management approach, we are introducing an extensive programme to modernise our platforms and upgrade our services.

To support our ICT aspirations, we are seeking an experienced, self-motivated and enthusiastic person to join our talented team of Microsoft systems engineers

Reporting to the Microsoft Services Team Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that messaging services are delivered in line with strategic objectives and are proactively supported to the highest levels of availability.

Demonstrable technical delivery and support skills are an essential requirement. You will be responsible for supporting Microsoft related messaging services, including: the installation and operation of new and legacy platforms, support of our Windows messaging and O365 services, management of supporting software & interfaces and the day-to-day monitoring of services.

You will use your wide and diverse technical knowledge to lead on technical issues, deliver and support new architectures, administer security best practice, develop departmental processes, advise on policy and champion in the continual improvement of University IT services.

As well as extensive technical knowledge over a broad range of technologies, you will have practical experience of defining business requirements, project management methodologies and service delivery frameworks.
