The United Kingdom Aneurysm Growth study is a BHF-funded cohort study of men with abdominal aortic aneurysms. The main focus of the current project work is cohort recruitment via a national postal process. Recruitment has been ongoing since 2011 and the project is now moving into the final follow-up phase. To date over 3700 men have been recruited into the study. In order to make use of the data collected and streamline future data collection we now require someone to assist with preparing the project dataset for analysis and performing initial project analyses. This role will involve working closely with the overall project manager, technical support staff and junior administrative staff.

You will develop and carry out project work, including research, under the guidance of the Principle Investigator, Professor Matt Bown. The post will involve working with the project dataset to prepare this for analysis and performing initial analyses of the project data in preparation for publication. The post will require expertise in data management and data analysis. Knowledge of statistics and/or epidemiology is desirable but not essential. There will be an opportunity to be involved in, and learn, the research governance aspects of the project but this is not a requirement.

Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to Professor Matthew Bown on

The closing date for this post is midnight on 22 August 2017.
