Queen Mary University of London - Barts Cancer Institute

Applications are sought for a Bioinformatician to provide bioinformatics expertise towards the discovery novel biomarker and signature discovery in lymphoma and leukaemia, and other cancer types. The post will be based in the Centre for Molecular Oncology, Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London.

Essential requirements for this post include a PhD in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology or a relevant discipline. Candidates WITHOUT a PhD but with extensive knowledge and experience in genomics data analysis are also very welcome. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge and experience in large-scale data analysis, especially next-generation sequencing data sets. Experience in data integration and modeling is desirable. Knowledge in cancer genetics and genomics will be much appreciated. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also essential.

The post is full time and for 18 months starting from 1st October 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter). Starting salary will be in the range £32,405 - £36,064 per annum (if part-time – pro rata) inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave (if part-time – pro rata), defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

The Barts Cancer Institute requires applicants to provide all certificates at interview to confirm their qualifications (specified in the Job Description).
