FullTime, Fixed Term for 60 months.

This post is to provide vital technical support for a new Wellcome Trust funded research team, headed by Prof Jo Morris, investigating the role of the small protein, SUMO, in the way cells repair DNA. The post-holder will generate proteins for in vitro analysis, will keep lab stocks of mammalian cell lines growing and generate unique clones through mutagenesis and cloning.

The post-holder will had a degree or equivalent in a relevant area, and have practical experience in growing and purifying proteins from bacteria, looking after tissue culture and generating new clones using mutagenesis and recombinant DNA technology.

They will have good communication skills and enjoy working in a team to deadlines.
