Doctoral College Administrator

Reporting to the Doctoral College Manager, the post is to provide administrative support for research degree programmes within the Doctoral College and the respective Faculties at the University. You will be responsible for the delivery of and assist in the development of a comprehensive, customer focused, integrated, cost effective and progressive administrative support service for programmes mainly in Biological and Biomedical subject areas. The primary functions of the post are to administer the enquiries, admissions, enrolment and progress monitoring and completion of studies of research degree students for the above programmes, in liaison with the relevant Faculty’s PGR Research Coordinators, the relevant School Research Degree Coordinators and the wider academic supervisors.

The post requires both independent and team working skills, good communication skills, experience of administration, preferably in Higher Education, with knowledge of the postgraduate research sector. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages is essential, experience of working with online databases and web pages are desirable.

Education attainment at higher education level (or demonstrable equivalent experience) is also essential.

This is a part-time post working 18.5 hours per week (Wednesdays half day, Thursdays and Fridays) on a fixed-term basis for up to 12 months to cover a period of maternity leave.
