IKEA Research Fellowship in International Relations at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford

Applications are invited for the IKEA Research Fellowship in International Relations at Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford, a fixed-term post of three years commencing 1st October 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. This is a career development post suitable for an early-career academic. Candidates should have research interests in the broad field of international relations and international development focusing especially on humanitarian programmes and intervention by state and non-governmental actors, and the promotion of human rights and legal protections. The research should be policy and practice-relevant.

The main duties and responsibilities of the Research Fellow will be to conduct research, to publish that research, and to teach International Relations to undergraduates at Lady Margaret Hall; to assist the Politics tutors in the undergraduate Admissions exercise; and to undertake administrative tasks directly associated with the post. The postholder will undertake an average of three hours a week of undergraduate teaching in International Relations for LMH (during term). S/he should either have successfully completed a doctorate or have a Master’s degree and be well advanced in the process of completing a doctoral thesis.

The salary for the post will be £18,760 p.a. at current rates, plus some meals and accommodation; reimbursement of research expenses of up to £7,000 per annum; and payment for any teaching above three hours a week (for a maximum of a further 3 hours) during term at £32.73 per contact hour for a paired tutorial (at current rates).
