The School of Education and Psychology are looking to recruit an exceptional Reader to develop and lead the Doctorate in Education programme. In line with the University of Bolton’s ‘Teaching Intensive; Research Informed’ agenda the successful candidate will demonstrate aptitude for high quality research and evidence publications commensurate with submission for the REF.

The key duties of the post holder will be to lead and contribute to the delivery, development, research and administrative support of the Doctorate in Education, leading as appropriate in dedicated areas.

A first degree in a relevant curriculum specialism, a recognised full Teacher Education qualification a related Masters Degree and a PhD or EdD are also essential. The successful candidate will also be expected to be a member of the Higher Education Academy (or be willing to obtain this).

The successful candidate should demonstrate an awareness of current developments in Education as well as being able to facilitate the creation and maintenance of a range of links between academic and research initiatives and industry employers. Relevant teaching and programme leadership and delivery experience, as well as being able to undertake appropriate subject specific research and/or advanced creative practice and/or enterprise activity is essential.
